Called to Serve Not a Slave to the Church

Every pastor is excited to get their Call into the public ministry. They are excited to serve God's people and share the gospel of Jesus. Sometimes that excitement can spell early burnout as they take on to much. Every church is excited to get a new pastor. Every church thinks this new pastor will do all the things for them that they don't want to do. This, too, is leads to early burnout. So how do we make this work? How do pastors and congregations work together under the Cross of Christ to proclaim forgiveness while not burning out. More Vacation? Higher Pay? HELP EACH OTHER? We will explore these thoughts today.
